Course Overview

This qualification equips students with practical automotive servicing and repair skills to work safely and effectively in the motor industry. Students learn how to inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems in modern vehicles using industry tools, workshop equipment and diagnostic technology.

Training includes both theory and practical learning, ensuring graduates develop job-ready skills aligned with industry requirements.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal academic prerequisites for this qualification; however, applicants should:

  • Be at least 16–18 years of age (depending on enrolment pathway)
  • Possess basic English communication skills
  • Demonstrate basic numeracy skills
  • Be physically capable of performing workshop tasks
  • Undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment prior to enrolment

Apprenticeship students must be employed in the automotive industry where required.
